Back engine pressure build up blowing oil filter

Bought my mark 2 1.6 titanium beginning of the week everything was fine,then yesterday engine temperature was low and oil light came on car was losing alot of oil,changed oil filter and filled car back up with oil it was running fine then today got in the car started it engine temp down again oil light flashing then came on solid checked under the car and fresh oil underneath has anyone had any similar problems how was it repaired or is the problem more serious

    Did you have to change your oil filter because it ruptured. If so it sounds like the pressure relief valve is stuck and building up to much oil pressure. But it doesn’t explain why the temperature gauge is reading low . Before I noticed that you put oil filter blew in the heading. I was wondering how low was the temperature gauge reading, because if it wasn’t reading anything you could have run out of coolant and the engine was overheating making the engine oil so thin it would leak out everywhere, also take lubricant from piston rings creating back pressure that would blow the oil cap off

    Had to change the the oil filter because it was damaged then the build up of pressure blew the second one, the temperature in the car was down at 0 my mechanic said it might be the oil filter housing or the breathers

    I would think it’s the oil pressure relief valve stuck creating the problem with the oil filter side of things making it rupture . I’m not familiar with the engine to know where to find it , at a guess I would say it’s on the oil filter housing . I’m not sure about the temperature gauge reading, I guess you have checked the water and water circulation. For example water pump and thermostat working ok .

    I don’t think the oil pressure valve is very expensive providing its easy to get too . I guess you have checked the wires onto the temperature sender

    I haven't personally my mechanic is coming out tomorrow to check the housing and try and identify where the problem is
