Power fold mirrors query

Featured Replies

I'm in the process of adding power fold wing mirrors to my cmax. Ive got the mirror side of things sorted, just need to finish the wiring.

First off - haynes manual wiring says wires go from passenger mirror plug > folding mirror control unit

Where is the mirror control unit? Ive found the 2 wires, they go off into the car, not anything i can find on the door.

The 2 wires are missing from the drivers door mirror plug. I need to add them and run them to the above mentioned mirror control unit. again, where is it located and what does it look like? thanks!!

is it this?

A 2007 C-max can either be a late MK1 or an early MK1.5.

The C-max MK1 is electronically identical to the Focus MK2. On these vehicles the power fold mirrors are controlled conventionally by an additional module (Power Fold Mirror unit). This is basically a conventional relay module. The Focus/C-max module is extremely rare. Many people use the more common Mondeo MK3 power fold relay.

Note that the Focus MK2 / C-max MK1 power fold mirrors can only be folded manually by the switch. The mirrors do not autofold when locking/unlocking the car.

The C-max MK1.5 is electronically identical to the Focus MK2.5. On these vehicles the power fold mirrors are controlled digitally by the door modules. Power fold mirrors require the higher spec. door modules that support the power fold mirrors.

Note that the Focus MK2.5 / C-max MK1.5 power fold mirrors can both be folded manually by the switch or autofold when locking/unlocking the car.
