Need help with focus 58 reg 1.6 noise in engine bay

Hi, I'm new to this forum, recently during the cold months my focus has started to make a ticking noise near the drive belt and was wondering if anyone can identify why it is doing so? any help would be appreciated. thanks.

It certainly needs investigation, One thing that springs to my mind is that the drive belt might be starting to break up and could shred and tangle with cowlings ,pulleys and various things in the vicinity and do more damage.

the drive belt seems in good condition and seems to have much more life in it, unfortunately I've had it 6 months so I'm unsure of when it was last replaced.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the noise disappears after 1 minute of idling and returns to normal with no sounds.

Sometimes when the weather changes from dry to damp you can get noises coming from drive belts. I have given them a light spray with WD 40 , and sometimes found the noise to vanish for a moment to come back again. It seems to be a oscillation the belt sets up on the pulleys
