Immobiliser malfunction, hill assist malfunction, power steering malfunction

Featured Replies

Hi all. First time posting and bit of a long one so forgive me in advance. I have a 2015 fiesta 1.0 eco boost automatic. Sometimes when going to start it will not start and throw out the messages immobiliser malfunction service now and messages about hill assist and power steering. Sometimes it would start straight after other times could take 10 attempts.  However I have found that if I hold the key in the starting position for 10-20 seconds it will start. Sometimes this leaves an engine management light on but in most times it doesn’t. The management light indicated pcm fault so replaced it. It has also cut out a few times while driving and will then say about the immobiliser fault and mention a transmission fault. I have researched and there is nothing concrete out there. I have replaced the battery twice (don’t ask) and cleaned up the main earthing point by the battery and the two that sit behind the battery. I have also replaced the battery in the key.  Any advice most welcome. I have spoke to a garage but  unless it happens while they have the car there is not much they could do. Only thing to add is when it doesn’t start you don’t hear the fuel pumps prime. Is that because of the immobiliser or is that what is triggering the fault messages.

many thanks in advance
