Headlight malfunction

Featured Replies

I have the 2016 titanium x model with bi xenon adaptive headlights.

The headlight malfunction service now warning came on and it's going in for diagnostic check,  the light goes off but comes on not everyday but I'd say every few days obviously when lights are on auto.

Question is,  will it be stored in the onboard computer or will it have disappeared meaning they won't see any codes?

Annoyed that it may go away and they don't see a code then it means no code no fix!

It came on 3 days ago and car not driven in dark since and its going in when its daylight so warning light may not be there when its in.

Thanks

A modified Elm327 cable is only £17, and Forscan is free so why not read the codes yourself? If you're paying the garage to read the codes, that lead will pay for itself after the first use.

There have been a few threads about headlight malfunctions over the years.

It could be as simple as a broken wire in the back of one of the light connectors
