Focus 2011 MK 2.5 Windscreen Washer stopped working

Featured Replies

Hi

I have a 2011 MK2.5 Focus 1.6 Platinum (petrol) and recently the windscreen washers (both front and rear) stopped working. The wipers still worked and I could hear the washer pump but nothing from the jets, not even a trickle.

I've checked the fuse and taken the pump out and that seems to be working, I've also cleaned the filter in the water "bottle" and cleaned the jets and they're all clean.

Is it an electrical fault somewhere down the line that's preventing power reaching the pump?

Thanking you in anticipation...

I had the same on my15 focus .I cleaned the water bottle as it gets gunk in it from having water left in over a long time and started working again.

Try a new pump. Although it sounds ok it may not be strong enough and not pumping as it used to.

How have you concluded that the pump is working? Have you tried it in situ, with the outlet tube unattached just to see if it has the power to squirt out water?
