Diagnostic Price shocking at £120

Featured Replies

remote controls Fobs stopped talking to the car and  will not open without the key

When getting into the car the dashboard says no key detected

I have had took it garage who have checked it over  and said there’s nothing wrong with the remotes and they disconnected the car battery to see if that would reset the computer

This did not work so took the car to Ford as I’ve been told it is the antenna that communicates with the fobs

Ford are charging £120 for a diagnostic when I’ve told them what the problem is and it needs a new antenna

shocking puts me off buying another ford car

You've tried a spare key? The remote part of the fob is not the same as the immobiliser part, which is called PATS, and which is embedded in the key itself.   If your spare key resolves it, then it's a decent locksmith you need to find.
