focus mk3.5 1l ecoboost

Featured Replies

alright everyone, ive moved over from a fiesta 1l to a focus 1l both 125bhp. now i know the fiesta is gonna pull quicker then the focus due to it being lighter and smaller, but it feels like my focus is just generally slow and doesn’t pull, is this normal?

also would like to add change from first and second (mainly first) she likes to judder as if the bite point is moving and she’s loosing revs.

any idea? cheers

Hi mate my 1 L focus pulls fine! Not slow at all

Personal preference and depends what you're used to.  I had a 125ps Mk3 and hated the lack of torque and how slow it felt.  You could always get a remap...

The clutches on these are a known weak point - might be worth checking that yours had the recall done.

Does it struggle up hills and does it take very long to get upto speed on the motorway?  A few have found problems with either the turbo or vacuum pump and replacement of either has resolved these issues.

A lot of it might just be the weight heavier car and the turbos are small like really small
