2010 Focus Connected battery around the wrong way.

I have been offered 2010 focus, but the present owner connected the battery around the wrong way, it now won’t start, he said he had an auto chap out and the immobiliser is on, any help? Quick fix or headache, He wants £250 for it. worth a punt?

    Could have just blown a fuse, could have burnt out half the electrics or the starter motor.  No way to tell without looking at it.

    The diode rectifier pack in the back of the alternator will be fried for sure. Reconditioned alternator is about £80, but that could be the least of your problems. I hate to think what damage might have been done to the electronics of the car.
