Fiesta 2008 mk7 where is the power steering fluid reservoir?

Featured Replies

Hi,I do most of my own car repairs unless it means buying an expensive specific tool to fix it,then ill let garage do it.

But in the engine bay if my fiesta 2008,I can't seem to find the power steering fluid reservoir?

And my steering is making a noise now,my 1st point to check of course would be the level of power steering fluid, but where is the reservoir, have I gone blind?

Is it not EPAS? (Electric motor)?

Hi, as far as I know the 2008 Mk6 did have a power steering pump and fluid reservoir mounted near the front of the engine bay hard over to the left hand side when looking at the front. The 2008 Mk7 has electric power steering so hence no reservoir.

the easiest way to find out is take the cowling of thats behind the steering wheel (the same plastics that cover the ignition switch) if its EPAS then you will see a motor on the steering columb shaft

I have a 2016 Mk7 Fiesta Titanium 1.5 TDCi & I dont seem to be able to locate a power steering reservoir either. The car has started to leak pink fluid which feels quite viscous. I cant work out if its coolant fluid - I'm not convinced its this? Would it be transmission fluid? I've a clear 'stain' on my drive under the car towards the back of the engine which feels oily. As I've an under engine shield / tray I cant pin point this leak without removing it. Any ideas?

These use fully electric power steering so no fluid at all.

Pink is usually coolant.  Glycol is viscous.

Manual transmission fluid is sort of brown and smells awful.  Auto trans fluid is deep red.

Really the undertray needs to be removed if you can't see the leak from above.  No point guessing.
