1.4 tdci 2009 injector clamp bolt snapped

Featured Replies

Hello everyone! Another fun one for you... I had my injector seals done a few years back (5 maximum), my car is barely used maybe 10k miles since I've owned it, the cars been chuffing and making a clicking / popping noise. Went to my local garage who said torque the injector clamps down and hopefully that'll sort it... Much stripping down of the engine later... Last injector and snap! I've never had an easy out work for me but it could be my only choice so.... Easy out & drill bit recommendations please!

Managed to get the bolt out, bought a new one and fitted it... Now I can't get the rocker cover to go back on, I've literally been trying for hours!

Put it down, try again later...  No idea why but this works surprisingly often!

Yeah I stepped away to calm down 😂 I'll have another look tomorrow, I even took the headlights, wipers & cowl off for more access but it just doesn't want to sit low enough to put the 2 back 10mm bolts in.

If you still can't get it on tomorrow, post a couple of pictures.  I'm sure it'll be something simple but just can't the wood for the trees atm.

I think it's the rubber rings, number 2 in this picture, I'll take them off tomorrow and see if it sits right without them, if it does I know where to focus my frustration 😂

It's alive! Took the rubber seals off and it went straight in so I knew that was where to focus my rage, got my dad to push down the one side as hard as he could, managed to get a drill bit in and lever it to line them up, one bolt in but the other side was a different story, ended up having to push the rubber seals into the ports through the cut outs in the rocker for the injectors.
