Standard DRL

Featured Replies

Can anybody tell me which wire is the DRL? To wire my DRL spots into

UK vehicle lighting regulations states that Spot lights must only be active with the High Beam circuit.

You can of course try and wire your spot lights to the DRL circuit which is sure to kill the BCM as the DRL's take only a few mA and spot lights take 15/20A

They're not spots sorry, they're the aftermarket DRL/indicator surrounds, there's a video on Youtube how to wire them in but where he explains to wire one into the main DRL he doesn't show which wire he taps into

Hi Pete, does your car already have factory fitted DRL's and you are fitting more OR do you not have DRL's ?

Maybe you could post the link to the YouTube video that you mention and then I would have a better understanding of what you are wanting to do.

Hi, yes it's a 15 plate 7.5 and has standard DRLs, I have the aftermarket spot surrounds which have DRLs fitted which also indicate when using your turn signal.

I have wired the indicator wires into the correct wires (4th along on the harness) but on the video he wires one white wire (DRL) directly into the back of the headlight unit but he doesn't show which wire he taps into.
