BCM replacement - missing 2.5V

Featured Replies

After jumping my Mk7 fiesta the fuses blew and has somehow fried the BCM. Took it to an garage and they said there's a 2.5V missing and they can't fix it as needs to be in a ford garage? Is there any way to fix it myself.

Reading with forscan doesn't let me make a copy of my current bcm so I'd guess I'm out of luck?

If anyone knows anywhere that might be able to fix my current module as it seems like it's going to cost a lot of money to fix.

Thanks,

Jordan

Well that was an expensive mistake !

If the BCM is really screwed up and scrap then you're in trouble. The cost of getting a Ford main dealer to sort out the problem would be more than the cars worth.

You could buy a second hand BCM from a Vehicle Recycling centre (scrap yard) or as a last resort you could try eBay. In order to give yourself a chance you need to get a BCM with the same part number. Then you need to get someone with exactly the same specification car as yours and use Forscan to copy the "asbuilt" file.

You will also run in to problems with the PATS security system and also the car keys not working. So you will need to have the paid for licence version of Forscan to be able to reprogramme the systems.

Unfortunately with forscan there is no asbuilt folder for the bcm - as a last resort I've taken the bcm apart and will test the relays on the board as the only thing that doesn't work is the HVAC module, but it works when turning the car over so I'm assuming a stuck relay in the wrong position. Thinking the AC should be off when turning the car over

No, guesswork will screw it up for sure.
