Lights replacement - mods

Featured Replies

Hi all,

OK I have a 125 ST line mk7.5 (66 plate) that is great so far, I've had it 3 months.

I'm now considering upgrading the lights - headlights, definitely indicators, brake lights, maybe fog lights, reverse lights.

Then footwell lights and courtesy lights.

And finally number plate lights.

I would like guidance please on options; I've heard autobeam is the place for good standard lights but am happy to purchase from any decent supplier  however I do not know what exactly to look for.

For external lights I want more positive, better performing lights than standard, esp indicators and headlights, but do not want to blind other drivers off the road.  What type of bulbs should I be looking for?

Interior lights, just something warm and again that performs well - white for courtesy and maybe coloured footwell.

I do not know all the options.  I've heard of LED but suspect they could be the ones that look like they're on full beam when dipped!

What do people think of halo lights?

Do some lights fail an MOT?

I'd be grateful for other owners experience and views.

I am a DIYer-if-i -can-do-it!  For instance I've just mostly-decomaniated and waxed my car for the first time.  Not yet attempted paint correction.

My last car was old Corsa C to which a detail was a 2-bucket wash if it was lucky!

But I intend to take care of this one, its the most expensive car I've owned!!!

Any and all comments appreciated.

Ta!
