Unable to Update Ford Fiesta 2018 Sync 3

Hi,

I'm trying to update the maps on my ford fiesta 2018. The current map version is F6.1 and a few weeks ago I updated the sync software to the latest 2020 build.

When I input my VIN number I get this screen:

Then when I click prepare maps download I end up stuck on the following screen that just says this:

I have just been to my local ford dealer and they wanted to charge me £120 + VAT to update the maps so I walked out.

 

I have been trying this daily for the past two weeks so if anyone could give me some pointers it would be much appreciated

    If you’re able to update the Sync3 firmware successfully then you must be doing something right.

    Apart from the usual, ensure you are using a modern browser, have sufficient free capacity on your PC etc then all you can do is wait for Ford and the servers they use to get their act together.

    Its not you, I finally managed to download a map update but it won't install, keep getting error messages.

    Just leave it a while and try again.
