n/s rear bumper bracket

Featured Replies

Having bought a new bracket I noticed it comes with plastic fittings, the one on the car is pop riveted on. Will the supplied fittings stand up to the job?

Do you think it very likely that they will have manufacured a potentially safety critical component thats not "up to the job?" and risk a major lawsuit ?

I can't remember the last time that I saw anything pop riveted by a car manufacturer as things are mostly Spot Welded these days.

Perhaps the pop riveting was done by a garage at a later date and not in the factory

Should be, or at least used to be that they were fixed using 3 aluminium rivets.

the bracket is made of plastic so spot welding is unlikely.

well thats put a smile on my face !  😀

I didn't know the bracket is plastic which make the OP question a little pointless. Plastic bracket held on by plastic fittings seems very logical. 👍
