Ford warranties any good?

Featured Replies

Hi

Few more questions.

I'm new to Fords is the 3 Year additional Ford extended warranty transferable to a new owner if I sell the car.

Also can anyone shed some light on their actual experiences (positive or negative) and whether they would recommend buying the Ford extended mechanical breakdown cover.

Is there any known serious mechanical issues with the Mark 8 Ford Fiesta St Line that would make it worth getting the extra cover.

Feel free to suggest alternative companies that would compare with Fords warranties.

Thanks in advance.

Warranty is transferable, all pretty much explained here:

As for serious issues, pretty much as per earlier versions - long threads on here about rusting turbo cooler pipes and oil pressure issues caused by degrading "wet"  cam drive belts. Neither seem to have cropped up on the Mk 8 though.

The drive belt issue is related to oil changes being missed or wrong oil used, which makes Ford's decision to extend service intervals on the Mk 8 seem odd. Many members are therefore sticking with annual changes.

NB I'm assuming you have a 1.0 ecoboost?

Yes thanks for your reply, yeh its a 2019 1.0 ecoboost

Do all used ford's come with a 3 year warranty? Im in the process of buying a used fiesta from a Ford dealer and I'm paying about £900 for my 3 year warranty

Depends what scheme you're buying under. Ford Direct cars from Ford dealerships come with a comprehensive 2 year warranty:
