Anyone know where to get a discount voucher for BlackCircle tires?

I wouldn't knock Avon Tyres. I replaced the factory fitted Pirelli's on my Mk2 Focus and the Avon's gave a better ride, stayed in balance and were as good in the wet or dry. I would use them again on this car but they do not make my size and ratings unfortunately.

At this time of year it might be worth thinking about replacing them with some all-season tyres instead. I know we don't get much snow, but when we do it definitely makes a big difference. Fitting the all-seasons a few years ago meant I could actually get up the hill to my house, instead of sitting at the bottom spinning the wheels!

I remember in the 80s I lived up a hill, and at the time drove a Mk1 XR2. After snow, I just sat at the bottom of the hill spinning my wheels furiously, then suddenly, I was overtaken by a Citroen 2CV on the skinniest tires known to man LOL Taught me a lot on how tires work 🤣

I definitely think my 175/65/14 tyres are better in the snow than many other cars. Narrow ones cut into the snow more instead of slithering around on the surface. I know they don’t look as cool but I’m more likely to get home

Now I have had my rear subframe replaced, and hence the tracking miraculously cured, I have just bought 2 tires for front, from BlackCirtcle to be fitted next week

I have chosen, 2 x Yokohama BluEarth AE51s, never had that brand before, but they have a good 'petrol' rating, and an 'A' rain rating, it rains alot here in NI LOL Hey, it's all a throw of the dice in tires, and everyone has their own opinion. I'm sure they'll do me just fine...

It doesn’t seem very well known but Asda tyres does the same thing as black circles and have loads of different tyres. Never seen Asda tyres advertised. Not sure how I found out about it. I always check tyre shopper,  black circles and Asda tyres.

I’ve recently used ASDA tyres, they were the cheapest for the Continental tyres that I was after and have a fitter local to me.

I'm not sure people have actually understood the phrase, " I have just bought 2 tires for front, from BlackCirtcle to be fitted next week..."  LOL  😁 Oh, and they don't do Yokohama, and don't operate in Northern Ireland 🤣

Problem is, people only read the first post or two and then add their own...  This often happens when bumping an older thread with a result on any forum lol.

I tend to agree, however, it was just 2 posts away LOL Not as if it was a 50 page thread 🤣 I absolutely know you would have at least read the last few posts before responding!

It's still on a second page though.  You can reply without turning past the first page.

Just to finish thread off, BlackCircle let me down. Sent me an email yesterday afternoon to tell me that this mornings fitting was cancelled, and the soonest it could be rescheduled was another 7 days. Anyway, spent over an hour last night on the phone getting through to their Indian call center where we both had issues understanding each other. Was promised a refund but despite requesting, they could not issue me a reference number for confirmation.

Opened an immediate case with PayPal, and within an hour they found in my favour and issued a full refund.

Popped into my local tire pace (not a chain), and got myself a couple of newly launched Toyo Proxes Comforts, with an 'A' rain rating which is what I wanted, it rains a lot here in NI LOL So, all good...

Two years ago I enquired with Asda tyres & blackcircles about four decent tyres fitted, visited out local tyre fitters and the same tyres including fitting & tyre disposal was £40 cheaper than online quotes.....just saying like!

I use PayPal when I can, good to know they can resolve matters so quickly. The language barrier in NI is as bad as in Scotland. It’s laziness by other English speakers. Most sasanachs understand but the rest of the globe ..forget it. Having said that tuechters (highland Scot’s) would call me a sasanach. Swings and roundabouts

After spending almost 30yrs working with a very strong Irish contingent over the yrs and also spending sometime working in Scotland ( Ratho park) costorphine? Nr Edinburgh I'd probably still struggle to understand a local "true" Yorkshireman 😆

Lol, there are so many variations even within Yorkshire. My Mrs is originally from York whereas I'm a West Riding lad and even after 30+ years together I still come out with things she's never heard of.
