Airbag lights problem

I recently got my first car, fiesta 2019 from a dealer and experiencing my first problem.

I drove yesterday, the airbag warning lamp lit up when the rear seat is unfolded after moving boxes. I tried to wiggle the wire under the driver seat, but the lamp is still there. Is there anything wrong with my airbag and is it possible to be resolved by a newbie?

Cheers

Don't mess about, if you got it recently let the dealer sort it out

Thanks so much, Unofix!

However, I have booked a car servicing session at Trust Ford as my car is already missing 1-2 service sessions according to Ford recommended schedule. With my dealer’s busy schedule, it is going to make it two weeks later.

Do you have any idea whether Trust Ford will let me go for the dealer with the lamp stays on?

The airbag / safety restraint warning is a serious situation and should be considered urgent. In the event that you were unlucky to be in an accident the airbag may fail, or the seatbelt pre-tensioners fail to fire.

You should speak to your dealer, and explain that, in it's current state you feel that it is unsafe to drive it and that it needs looking at ASAP. If after all it was a case that the engine wouldn't start, would you be willing to wait 2 weeks for them to take a look at it ?

Remember if it was a case of taking your car for an MOT and the airbag light was on, it would automatically fail.

Thanks mate, I checked the car tonight and the light goes off and I don't know why...😅

I will definitely idle it at the moment until completion of the arranged inspection and service.

Again, thanks a a lot for caring!
