iPhone won’t automatically connect to Sync

Hi everyone

I have recently started having a problem with my iPhone 11 not automatically syncing to the sync system on my 2013 Focus.

I have tried removing the phone and paring the phone but no joy.

Not sure if it is a phone or sync issue.

Does anyone know of any easy fix to get my phone to automatically connect when I start the car (it does work when I manually select connect on my phone).

Many Thanks

Hi pete, when setting up the phone did you set it up to be the “master” phone?

Hi Foxxy,

Yes I have.  It’s really frustrating as I keep forgetting to manually connect it to the sync system.  I just can’t work out if it’s a phone or car setting that needs changing.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome.

Hmm interesting, have you tried factory resetting the SYNC system and forgetting the device in your phone?

Well I tried all of the above yesterday but after trying it again (master reset, default reset and forget sync on phone then reconnect) it now works.  I did mess with the AUX settings but I don’t know if that would have effected it.

Thank you for the advice and making me try again 🙂.  Made up it is working again !

Hmm that’s interesting. Are you sure it’s sync and not bvc (Bluetooth voice control)?

I have now sorted it !!

So the problem was the iOS update on the iPhone.  I think it must have stopped working when I updated to iOS 15.  I updated to 15.1 last night and it started working again.  Fingers crossed it was just that.
