Could anyone tell me i have a 2013 1.25 Fieta Zetec i notice that the front heater switch trips off after about 5 minutes. But the rear stays on and has to be switched off manually is this normal any thoughts most welcome cant find any technical info on this ?

Yes  - the front screen draws a lot more power so shuts off sooner

I think my back one does switch off on its own but a lot longer after the front. I agree your front is working correctly. It uses a huge amount of power. It should have done it’s job in that time, I have never felt the need for it being on longer

Mine is exactly the same.

Above is correct, and I'm fairly sure  italso needs the engine to be running.

You're right.   It won't come on unless the engine is running.

Front screen takes between 50 to 60 Amps, it wouldn't take long to flatten the battery if it worked without the engine running.
