Mk8 gear stick movement

Featured Replies

Hello, I have a 2017 mk8 fiesta 1.0ecoboost, which we bought from our local ford dealership with around 40k on it.

When in neutral the gear stick had what I can only describe as excessive movement forwards and backwards. I took it back to question the movement and was told it's ok...I know it's a different car, but I don't get this in 14yr C-Max!!

Does anyone else have the same or know if there's a way to adjust it ?? Cheers Glen

The shift on the MK8 is sloppy. I fitted a Pumaspeed quickshifter which cured all this.

It helps get you ready for stirring the Christmas cake 🤣

Yeah, I wasn't impressed with it at all. Nothing like the Focus I test drove.

Still umming and ahhing over adding one of these to my bog-standard 1.0...reckon it's worth it? (I don't have a problem with the the gear change, just kind of...fancy it!?) And if so, what setting do you use it on?

Best mod I've made.

Well, I guess it is removable if I don't like it...though ultimately I think I'd want to use a little Locktite on the securing screws for peace of mind.

Okay, enough dithering, I'm going for it- I have ordered one from Pumaspeed, £38 all in. (Same item currently £50 before postage etc on CEUK!)

Will post about how I get on with it.

Ditto! I've been dithering for ages too but now I'm out of warranty I thought I'd give it a go.
