Retrofitting Cruise Control to 67/18 Galaxy

Featured Replies

Slight off topic question but, I have CC as standard but I do a lot of motorway cruising. Is it possible to switch it from CC to ACC instead? I have as standard from the factory the front facing camera the HUD plus full radar and Bliss and lane assist.

Im having the steering wheel professionally reconditioned soon and it could be the perfect time to swap it over?

Thanks

James

It should be possible on your vehicle, BUT if it is manual then it is a bit pointless.

Is the Galaxy ACC system along the same lines as the Puma? On our Puma with ACC the gear shift prompt tells you if you need to shift down or up etc and keeps the ACC system on.

Well I fitted the CC yesterday and all is well, such a relief having it again I can't believe how much I got used to having it on the old Mondeo taxi.

A bit off topic now, I serviced the car the same day as doing the cc and noticed the antifreeze was low, I topped it up2 weeks ago so me and my mate had a look around and found it was leaking from the thermostat housing, I read up on this being a common fault when I bought the car, my mate said hold on I topped up mine last week and surely enough his is leaking too grrrrrr, I've been shocked at the prices of these units, best price I can get around here is £160 😭.

Wednesday timing belt kit and water pump getting done so a very expensive week for me.

The thermostat housing for a 2016 Galaxy is generally around £25

What engine have you got ?

I've got the 120 bhp 2L

I just been onto Ford and including my discount it was £173 plus vat.

My mate has been given a quote of £140

You should have asked for his discount instead.

What Ford finis number are you needing ?

I'm sorry I don't know what a finis number is

The Finis code is Ford's unique 7 digit part identifier number. It remains constant and does not change as newer revisions of the same part are released.

For example 1198060

If you type in to Google finis 1198060 it will find you lots of thermostat housings that are used on the Mondeo/Galaxy/Transit etc.etc This is only an example so this is not the part for your Galaxy. If you get a quote for the part from a Ford dealer, than ask them what the Finis number is so you can check online.

Ah right thanks for that

Hi everyone, seems I'm late to the party! Just got a 2018 ford galaxy and would like to retrofit cruise control. Please how do I go about this, not confident I can buy the right button myself and do the programming so I would be happy to be led by others that have got it right. Thanks
