Swapping out the old radio for new, wiring help needed

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I have recently purchased a Ford Fiesta Zetec 1.6TDI 2010; I want to remove the old radio and replace it with a newer one, however I can't find a wiring loom to connect the old cables to the new radio anywhere! Any advice on this would be extremely appreciated.

Old radio: 8A6T-18C815-BP Radio AHU (Serial number Z042083)

New Radio: E1BT-18C815-GE RADIO NG AHU (Serial number Z330740)

So, you're effectively trying to fit the radio /CD unit from the facelift car into a pre-facelift car. It's been done in previous posts, there's probably quite a bit in the search area. The later car had a different Bluetooth module and you've got a differing display as well to consider.

I often think it would be far easier to replace the facia for a Double DIN one and get a nice Carplay unit fitted. the upper display could be swapped for one of those front and back parking system displays to actually be useful then. Just my thoughts.

I reckon the pre and post facelift models should be thought of like the iphone and S models. Same more or les on the outside and completely different under the skin!

Look at the search on it, I'm sure your answer will be in there.
