Fiesta 2018 vibration and diesel sound

Featured Replies

Hi, folks!

Recently I bought used Ford Fiesta 2018 with automatic transmission, 1.0 ecoboost engine and 87k km of usage.

What did I noticed after two days of driving:

Car is simply fine when is staying on P position and when I'm pressing acceleration pedal sound of the engine is fine as well. But when I put it on drive mode - suddenly vibrations appears at stearing weel and when I'm accelerating there is a sound that sounds like a diesel engine + lots of vibrations on fifth gear and 1.5 -2k rpm.

There is no errors or stuff and there is no problems with acceleration but this sound driving me crazy. Please, advice me, what it could be.

Sounds like you have an Ecoboost damaged engine. Has it been serviced by Ford at all the correct service times ? When did it last have an Oil and filter change ?

Thank you for you response!

According to Ford dealer information it was serviced all the time at official service, accordind to service intervals requirements. Yesterday I asked my wife to sit in the car and make some tests, while bonnet was opened:

1. She pressed on the gas up to 2.5-3k rpm - sound of the engine was fine.

2. She moved gear shift in R position and slowly released brake pedal, sound was ok, nothing abnormal. Added some gas - same.

3. D position, same test. When she was holding brake there was low sound that was coming from behind of the engine. When she was moving forward with low gas sound of engine was fine as well, so it might be not engine problem. Today we will go for diagnistics to official dealer and after that I will post one more message here.

Can it be AT problem?
