Ford fiesta brake lights stuck on when headlights are switched on

Featured Replies

Hi I have 2003 Ford fiesta  for week now I been trying to figure out  why my side brake lights are stuck on when headlights are switched on. but they work fine when headlights are switched off I changed the fuse  any more ideas what could be causing it

many thanks

Have you replaced the brake/side light lamps recently or could the previous owner have swapped them? Sounds like you might have a 382 single element lamp fitted instead of a 380 double element lamp.

take the lamp out and see how many contacts are at the bottom of the lamp and how many are in the lamp holder.

Or it could be dual filament bulb wedged in holder at wrong angle bridging terminals

As already said above:

You have one or both of your "Stop & Tail" bulbs faulty. For the cost of two new bulbs just replace them.
