Diesel Engines To Be Made Greener

Featured Replies

There was an announcement yesterday by Peugeot-citroen(who make the Ford diesel engine),that from quater 3 the engines are to be re designed to make them 15% more efficient and emit less co2.

Stop start will be standard, using a reversable starter /alternator.

And regenerative braking will be a feature on some units.

lets face it. There is an alternative out there that has no emissions besides water. Thats hydrogen. I bet if all the clever people got together and put their minds to this they could make it more efficient i.e. smaller fuel tank, longer range etc. Its just that the fuel companies dont want this to happen. Money talks in this world and oil is here to stay for a while yet. Didnt they invent a clean working steam engine device over a hundred years ago? I figure if greed was not a problem we would all be using water to get around.
