2021 EcoBoost S Can't Scroll Through Music Explorer Without It Closing

Just got this car so bear with me if this is a known thing or whatever. This car has the sync, but its not the big touch screen.

I have a usb device with music on it. Plugged it into the car, songs came up. But as im searching through songs, it closes out and goes back to the "Now playing" screen. If i scroll too fast through the songs in the media explorer, it seems to kick me out faster. But even going slow, it kicks me out before i can even get through half of my songs. 

Not really sure what else to say, am i doing something wrong? Is this a known issue with this version of Sync?  Is it a problem with my usb device? Typically i'm good with technology related things but, it just doesn't make sense to me. It seems to just say NO when i try to scroll through all my songs.
