Mk6 st150 heated seats in a zetec s

Featured Replies

Hello, will the heated seat function work if I swap the seats on my zetec s for the heated st150 full leather? Will it just be plug and play or do I need a different loom?

Thanks

I have a 2007 Fiesta Zetec S, and when I fitted the heating pad kit in the seats, I needed to do all the wiring.  The kit was quite comprehensive, but I had to start from the fuse box, then run the cabling under the centre console out to both the seat bases.

I used the vacant F2 and F3:

They are for the Trailer Control Unit (TCU) one is permanent, and one is controlled via the ignition relay.  I think I used two piggy backs, but I might have butchered a fuse, soldered cables onto the bits, and inserted into the fuseway.

I also added a glove box light with an extra fuse 101. and a Fusion Centre console with the extra 12V accessory socket.

Brilliant mate. Cheers for the info. Just a few questions. All I have to do is wire the seats into the vacant fuse spots. Do you have to wire each seat into each fuse or can you just have 1 seat in one fuse and the other in another fuse space if that makes sense?

Cheers

For the XVision Kit I used, I fed both seats from the new relay, which has it's Common terminal fed from the F3 position.

The relay coil is fed from F2, which only has a supply when the ignition is on, so that you cannot leave the seats switched on.......

I do not have any knowledge of the ST Seats - I assume each seat has it's own switch, do you know what the load is per seat ?

The XVision has two pads per seat, and on each seat, the switch has "Off", "High" (pads in parallel) and "Low" (pads in series).  With both seats In "High" , total load is 180W, so 15A at 12V so I have used a 15A fuse to supply both seats.

The two vacant fuseways are in the Yellow box - there is cabling to the supply side of each fuseway, but none to any load,

I cannit remember where I put the relay, after all it was about three years ago !

Thanks for all of the help mate, I might just get some heated seat covers Instead. Probably be easier to install 😁

It took me a while .....  My Zetec S has full leather, which is cold in the winter, and my wife wanted heated seats as we have them in the Focus!

I did it as part of a project, along with the glove box light, and fitting the Fusion centre console with the extra accessory socket.  Took the radio surround and the Climate contol panel out at the same time, and painted them silver as on some other Fiestas.

I know a trimmer in Southampton who fitted the pads in the seats, so whilst all those bits were out, plenty of room to do all the necessary wiring.  Fitted a bigger battery box, and upped the size of the battery.

I have also fitted reversing sensors (never an option on Zetec S) and heated washer jets, the painted silver interior door handles and painted exterior hatch handle, door handles and side trim.

Keep the shiny side up !

Sounds like you have done a good job with your zetec s mate. I have fitted the St side skirts which make a massive difference to the look of the car. It looks a lot lower and sportier.

I have ordered some seat covers Instead and will just use them. I'm not amazing with wiring so probably best if I leave it alone 😂

I was debating about whether to get some side stripes but not sure if it would suit the panther Black colour
