2010 econetic, weird problem ....!!!!

Featured Replies

Hi I have a 2010 econetic 1.6 diesel 70k miles on the clock... I've suddenly got an issue where the air con pipes start rattling frantically, shaking the whole radiator assembly.

it starts at random, with or without the air con switched on, although if you switch on the aircon...  9 times out of 10 it starts rattling the pipes.

it  stops doing it at random too, sometimes just rattles for a couple of mins, sometimes for ages.. round town, motorway, or just sat idling...

Doesn't seem related to engine speed, the belt looks ok, and when things aren't in rattling mode , it is smooth as can be. Aircon clutch engages and disengages when you switch it on and off...

Anyone got any ideas..???

Now Sorted.... 3 experienced mechanics peering under the bonnet, doing a lot of head scratching.. apprentice walks up and says "I know what that is, it's the radiator fan.. bearings have gone"

And he was right....:-)

Good to hear there are some people who can think outside the box or outside the trouble shooting flowchart that just says keep replacing every part at great expense to the customer
