Engines gone advice?

Featured Replies

Hi there some advice maybe..?
2015 1.0 eco boost zetec S ..

my car died on my yesterday morning been told by my mechanic that the crank as gone in the engine and best to get a whole new engine incase it’s broke anything else which he won’t now till he’s changed the crank..

£1.000 ish for a new engine +++labour probably needs new clutch also..

worth the effort and maybe chance of it spiralling into much more ££££ or…?

The crank itself failing isn't very common, however the timing belt snapping and causing major engine damage (such as the crank) is common.

The bottom end of the 1.0L ecoboost isn't serviceable, Ford only provide the whole assembly. It's definitely easier to get a new engine, god knows what damage its caused.
