Trying to find my dads old car

Featured Replies

I'am trying to find my dads old fiesta XR2i. As a family we would love to find the car he had back in his day and restore it for him.

Its registration is H879NB, it was yellow the last time we saw and it’s a 1990 model year

If anyone know what has happened to the car or even where it is we would much appreciate it

I think you are missing a letter in the reg.

Have you done a DVLA check to see if it's still on the road?

I don’t know what happened to the other letter in the registration, it was meant to be H879NBO

I’ve looked on the DVLA and all it tells me is that it has not been MOTed or taxed since 2008

Then I would be confident in saying it has gone to the great scrapyard in the sky 😟

There is a good chance it has been scrapped as I know they were bad for rust, but i can not find anything on the DVLA saying it has been scrapped or even sorn

My hope is that someone has put it away in a garage and forgot about it

I've just noticed that I said it was a XR2i and it fact it was a RS Turbo

So Jack it seems a little odd that pictures of this 'missing car' are all over the internet and facebook. What's it all about ?

Back in the early 90s my dad brought this car from nearly new and was into max power scene. He did a few things including going down to bruntingthorpe with a few other RS Turbos and having a photo shoot for the max power magazine, I think that’s where the photos are from as we still have the old magazines with him featuring in them

.

I would guarantee that at this moment it's on a shelf in Aldi holding 500g of semolina

Have you checked on the rs owners pages I know one rs page that used to keep records of the cars and it’s members and there was always a request that you tell them when you sell it on etc

Likely scrap

There's almost more chance of the Covid19 vaccine working than there is in finding this car is alive and well !!
