What SD Card for satnav? mk7 fiesta

Featured Replies

I have a 2017 mk7.5 ford fiesta - T20 NLT

The car has satnav but it doesn't currently have an SD card in the SD card slot.

I had a look online but didn't really find any useful information about what is the correct SD card to use.

Could anyone tell me their one they they're using?

I have the same car same year.   There is a SD card but it carries the map.   It's no good just putting a SD card in, you need an SD card pre loaded with the map.   I tried copying my card for someone else on here some time ago but the copy just didn't work.

Should be this SD Card

Sorry, without looking in to it any more, I hope this is is the unit in the Fiesta. I know my Mondeo uses a different card, which the above is not suitable, and the info suggests it is for a Fiesta.

I have a spare V4.1 SD card sat here you can have. it's from a 2014 car but will work OK. PM me and I'll post it to you FOC if you want. I upgraded to a V11 2021 map successfully on my car. I couldn't copy it for some reason either.

All sd cards have an embedded Serial number.

Fords nav cards have a licence file on them which uses the cards serial as a copy protection, if the file doesn't match the cards serial then the system will reject the nav files.

There are ways to pull up the serial from the cloned card and rewrite the licence file but needs Android specific apps.

I have done a couple of functioning cards for friends in the past using a laptop and an Android emulator however I think the newer cards now don't copy very well (there maybe extra copy protection hidden somewhere).

I posted out my older SD to Nick so it should work fine to get him up and running OK.
