MK 8 Fiesta ST Performance Edition, no power to passenger Door, power mirror, mirror adjust, mirror indicator, door lock, window

Featured Replies

I’ve had an intermittent problem with my passenger side doors electrics, at first thought it was just the mirror not unfolding but today everything failed, not unfolding, not adjusting, no indicator, no power to undo window and wont unlock keyless from the passenger side.

I checked the fuses firstly but was ok, however while doing this i had slight life back when i touched/moved the rubber casing where the wires enter the car, so I’m thinking maybe a broken cable or maybe connector loose inside the door?

anyone else ever had this, I’ve booked the car into fords as its still under warranty but that’s in 2 weeks time (earliest appointment) due to a backlog due to Covid restrictions but would like to try fix it myself if anyone has any suggestions.

Hi There.

Noramally when any cables go from pillar to door there is a connection socket, Try to prise off rubber boot

carefully and see if you can see connection. Connection maybe within door itself not reachable but if it is

then try reconnecting and trying electrics, Mind you still under warranty.

It's still under warranty, book it in.

Either loose/damaged connection at the door harness to body harness connector or the PDM has gone down (Passenger Door Module)

Update,

Thanks for the replies,

I managed to get the Ford dealer to see me a week earlier which was today but Sod’s law, there had been no power to the door for nearly 2 weeks (mirror adjust, folding, indicater, no electric window and not opening keyless passenger side) but this morning 7.15am and -1 so very icy  i got in the car and it worked, so when at Fords I told them this and they said they needed the car for a day to fault find.

When i picked it up at 5pm I was told they had taken the door card off to check all connections, also checked to see any error codes but none, said the battery was only 60% even though its new so charged it and checked all connections but couldn’t find anything. Not sure if they did removed the door card as i cant see any evidence of this so will have to hope that they did, as well as checking the wiring plug and was told to call back if fault re-occurred.

Touch wood its still working but am flummoxed as to what caused it…..hopefully it’ll be ok.

Thanks again guys.

It's a pity they hadn't bent the corners up a bit and scratched the panel so you would know it had been worked on 🤣
