Does fiesta 1.5tdci 85hp and 120hp have same parts or what is the difference?

Can i use 120hp map on 85hp?

I don’t know for sure but I think lower power might have fixed vane turbo and higher power might have variable vane turbo.   My 1.5 tdci fiesta is 95bhp

I looked spareparts and found that turbo, injectors, cams, pistons are same (2017->). Not sure about rods, need to find these also. Meybe need to ask from Ford but im quite sure they dont want to say are these engines same 😄

Basicly my idea is that if they are same i can use 120hp map and even tuned map for 120hp. Also if parts are same there should be no seious reliablity problems when using oem map from 120hp.

Interesting... if you Google Fiesta mk8 technical specs you'll find a pdf from 2017- as isetta said, Ford says the 120hp version has a variable geometry turbo, the 85hp a fixed-geometry item. Even so I wouldn't be surprised if they're all but the same.

What is also different, according to the Ford pdf is the gearing  - as with the 140hp vs the 100/125 petrols, for some reason the internal gearbox ratios and final drive differ so that the higher-power version is actually geared shorter. So if you mapped your 85 to 120hp it wouldn't quite have the acceleration of a factory 120 though the difference is prob not detectable...

Right I'll get my coat 🤓🙂
