Opinions Wanted- cosmetic modification zetec s- vinyl wrapping etc, please read

Featured Replies

1. Should I wrap everything that is red from fiesta black edition zetec s to gloss black (roof, grill and wing mirrors)to go for total black look or just wingmirrors and keep red highlights on roof and grill?

2. Should I be taking it to get professionally done or can me and my mate (no experience between us) tackle it ourselves?

I've linked the image below, just bought it today myself (18 yrs), wanting to style it nicer cosmetically but not rice it out, any other suggestions welcome, thankyou

As this car was used in the Parkers long term test, I suspect Matthew has downloaded the pic rather than using a shot of his actual car?:

https://www.parkers.co.uk/ford/fiesta/hatchback-2008/long-term-reviews/ford-fiesta-black-edition/

Anyway, my opinion would be to leave well alone. Black Edition is pretty sought after in some circles so why spend time and money to possibly reduce its appeal/value?

I just downloaded an image from Parker’s yeah, done my research before buying a car, my one hasn’t been thrashed (fingers crossed), thanks for the feedback

Depends if YOU like the red bits on YOUR car or not.

if you do decide to change the colour, the roof should be easy enough the mirrors and grills will be more awkward, you can find mirror caps and grill on eBay in gloss black that aren’t too much and would be easier to swap.

Always said with these black editions, they look like they have overdone the lipstick around the mouth..... 😁

Given the Black Edition's target market I think you'll do well to find one that hasn't been thrashed!

Wrapping is harder than it looks, especially on small, curved surfaces like the grill trims and mirror caps.  It depends how much of a perfectionist you are really...yes, you and a mate can probably do it, but not perfectly.  In a few months time with sun and jetwashes the wrap will start to lift as well, though of course you can just peel it off at that point, so no real loss to either time or cost from your own attempt.  As to whether you should or not...I'd say not seeing as it's part of a less common trim...you could have just bought a standard ZS if you wanted to go all black exterior.

Probably an age thing but I really like how Ford turned these cars out, they stand out in a good way.

If-push-came-to-shove, then maybe wrap the roof gloss black or even carbon fibre ( if you can find a good one ) but I just really like the OEM look.

Hi I'm doing mod for my ford fiesta zetec 2010. I've changed the upholstery from grey to brown leather and now I want to cover the inside with a black car foil. I was wondering if I can find a print how it's all located between the front seats and radio. Would be just easier to transfer to the foil and cut out. Unless you have better ideas. Thank you.
