Something's Blown?

Featured Replies

Was driving home today when i thought i could hear something strange in the engine so i pulled over, this is how to best describe what i hear.... when you touch the throttle you can hear a blast of air coming from the engine area, as if there is a turbo style thingy fitted to the car lol before it revs. I took it to the dealers but the mechanic wasnt there so i have to go back tomorrow, just wondered what it could be??

Mk7 petrol 1.6 engine.

most likley a split or disconnected hose.

most likley a split or disconnected hose.

yea didnt fancy having a look myself, just typical that the mechanic had gone home early. Just hope they dont try and say its going to cost me anything

ok, took it to the dealer, no split or disconected hoses in and around the engine bay, have to take it back again as there was no lifts available to take a look underneath,

well i took it back and they say theres nothing wrong with it!!!

but i know there is, the car makes a different noise this past few days than it has before, to me it sounds like an exhaust problem when you have a leak there somewhere, buy they say that its fine, but i know it sounds different, im not happy

best way to check the exhaust is start the car and put your hand over the tail pipe, it should blow you hand out the way if not then the exhaust is leaking.
