Fuel Gauge Problem

Hi I have an 06 plate fiesta style and recently had a new fuel pump out in. Now the clocks are saying i have no petrol in my car whn i have. Give it 2 hours and then it gradually starts to show on the clock and then it switches itself off. Any idea what it could be????

    According to the Haynes manual the pump and sender unit are combined so its either a dodgy sender unit or its not been reconnected properly.

    Take it back to whoever fitted the pump !
