Focus 2010 radio upgrade

Featured Replies

You’ve got to be happy with that as a first try 👍

I got myself a spare surround for mine and sprayed it satin black but ended up staying with the silver version. Tried the heater vent surrounds in similar colour but just didn’t work for me.

At first the surround didn’t quite sit flush, I had to adjust it with a file at the bottom corner to help it in the end.

With guidance from posts above from Luke4efc I’ve ordered a fakra adaptor and DAB+ box now

I sprayed mine satin black too before carbonising it...

My dash has a mixture of silver painted console, plus Focus CC mk2 ashtray and switch panel in a satin silver plus black buttons so the black radio fascia wouldn’t really go with that I though, after spending ages painting the black fascia 🙄

After the helpful advice from other members in this post I now seem to have DAB working on my android head unit. Worked a treat connecting in to the original Ford DAB aerial wiring so didn’t have to try using the windscreen antenna supplied with my DAB box.

Downloaded DAB-Z from the play store and that was it more or less.

Got big list of channels to choose from and no idea how to find my regular station which may be on a different DAB region but hopefully will work it out eventually 👍

I picked up a stereo from Ali Express and I have been having trouble getting it to fit properly.  I was just wondering but did your fasica stick out on the bottom right corner when in the car, but the rest of the fascia clip in ok?  I bought another spare fascia and I am getting the exact same issue, it's driving me nuts lol.

Thinking back I did have to do some adjusting to get it to fit flush - practiced with a spare fascia myself that I painted satin black but didn’t use.

In the end I filed down the rear edge of the fascia like this below - hope that helps

Side note I seem to have a fair collection of mk2 and mk2.5 fascia’s spare now 🙄

Hello Troy,

Thanks for replying.

I have a spare fascia and one more on the way lol, I thought it was one of the plastic clips so I had cut it off.

I will try your method on lunch on the test fascia and let you know how I get on.

Cheers!

Hope you sort it ok, I’m hoping I did a nearer job on my fascia than the rough version in my photo 😳

As for spare fascia’s I’ve got the one I painted black for the tablet head unit then a stack of different Ford ones I’ve acquired over time. Need to get them on eBay I think

So I tried filing down the corner on my test fascia with my Dremel, seems to have done the job thanks.

While I was on a roll I done it on my decent fascia, that was ok but it did not fit aswell because the top of the fascia was causing the button to stick.

I have another one the way but it's the last time I order from Ali express as it takes forever lol
