Engine problem

Featured Replies

Looking for some advice, I have a 15 plate ford focus ecoboost in the garage just now they've found metal shards in the oil and advised a new engine. Ive since realised there's a few problems with the ecoboost engines and have spoken with Ford but they are unwilling to help with new engine etc. I was wondering if anyone else has had any similar issues and advice

Cheers

Ryan

Well on average there are at least 2 dead 1.0 ecoboost engines reported on the forums each week. So in answer to your question "Yes" hundreds of owners, probably thousands have had the same problem.

I understand that Ford have the 1.0 ecoboost on a special discounted price of £2500 at the moment but it has to be fitted at a Ford dealers which adds about £1400. If you go down the route of getting the Ford dealership to supply and fit the engine you get a full warranty on the complete job.
