FORD service is...

...below average!

Car just back from a 20,000 mile service.

Key fob battery low - needs replacing - warning comes up on the dash!

Excessively low tyre pressure on rear nearside - 25 PSI, should be 30.

But at least they reset the oil life monitor!!

Also, that lovely marble floor they have in reception, the posh coffee machine, and the 'complimentary' pastry - who do you think pays for all those?? LOL

Let’s hope they did actually change the oil.

... and re-fitted the filler cap properly, unlike Lookers in Chelmsford! It's amazing how absorbent the sound deadening panel is, though.

Most annoying thing was that although they cleaned it up when I returned, they never once said "sorry".

I also had a brief period of Mercedes ownership. The reception area (main dealer Belfast) was like  a trendy bistro, full barista services, and a deli counter, all 'free'. My goodness, I was a frequent visitor, as at the time it was very conveniently located. The toilets even had 'face cloths' to dry your hands with! I never actually availed of any of their car services, but just enjoyed the surroundings, and free stuff! Mercedes owners are as rich as a cat kicking footballer, though my rusty 22 year old Merc parked in their pristine car park was no doubt a bit of an embarrassment to them LOL

My newly purchased Mk2.5 had an MOT & convenience check at the main dealer about a month ago.  Not a proper service I know, but surely they check tyre pressures?  All 4 were below 25psi!  Also got a front side light bulb out.  Will give them the benefit of the doubt that may have happened in the meantime though.

Ford dealerships are having a bit of a shake up according to rumours in some automotive magazines. Arnold shark apparently will lose all ther ford franchises. Not just them though.

Ford are downsizing the amount of dealerships in half.

I'm wondering if this is in preparation for an oncoming abundance of electric cars where the service schedules will be totally different to the ICE?

I didn't realise that when I fired off a couple of queries to Ford's custmer services regarding items that the dealership hadn't been able to resolve - mind you, Ford customer services don't really seem to be on the ball either ...

Lol  I filled in a routine online customer feedback about our local Ford dealer ( Perrys) gave it a 2 /5 and that was being generous.

It asked for the highlight of the experience  which was the routine video that the technician did.

Other than that  that we got the car back in one piece.

Mine wasn't - as well as not fixing any of my problems the dealership lost the battery cover!! Big red thing, you'd think they'd have noticed it lying around ...

Hope they don't close my local dealership - I think its the only one left near me.... The other one which I used to visited around 10 years or so ago was not too bad and was convenient to get to and could keep the car over night etc as was in gated premises and all it did there was servicing/repairs.

They have closed that one now and so the only local place now is predominantly car sales, and they have taken over what used to be called Rapid fit right next door and are using that for servicing cars.  Not aware of any others near me. Fingers crossed it remains open.

Well Arnold Shark won't be much of a loss will it?
