Engine malfunction service required

Featured Replies

I have a 14plate ford focus and it goes into limp mode reducing revs available, saying message "engine malfunction service required" turn key of ,start then it's fine until you get engine under load again, coinsedentaly I did fill up with fuel from near completely empty to 100%, thinking it must be fuel related, thanks ryan

Have you scanned for fault codes? If not, that's your first port of call. Post back with them if any and we'll take it from there 🙂

Any particular 14 plate or do you have a specific engine?

Fuel filter clogged???? I'm guessing here, but could be worth checking, esp as you say the tank got down to "near empty" and then the problem started.

If it's a diesel this is a good shout, petrols have "lifetime" filters 👍
