Original clutch lines won't fit new master cylinder

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 2003 Focus estate 1.8 Diesel (74kW / 100CV)

The car with some known problems, one of which was the clutch master cylinder leaking fluid into the footwell. I bought a new master cylinder from Autodoc, a Ridex model 234M0005. The part was I'll fitting but did eventually go in, but the original fluid pipe that runs from the cylinder to where the bleeding screw is doesn't fit. It won't seat properly to allow the retaining clip to go in. It appears to be one mm or so too long.

Has anyone else come across this problem? I now don't know what cylinder to buy, or whether to get a different fluid pipe. Any advice would be very much appreciated.

Many Thanks.
