Best replacement radio for 54 plate Focus

Featured Replies

I'm looking for a replacement radio for a 2004 Focus, preferably with aux input. DAB and Bluetooth would also be nice but not essential.

Any recommendations?

Well, depends on many things - how much cost, size as 1 DIN or 2 DIN, CD Player, Android unit or traditional one, etc.

Couple of years ago I upgraded very basic 6000CD in my Focus Estate mk2.5 (my 2008; plate 08, I guess). Finland, we don't have DAB and I don't need GPS (cause Maps and TomTom apps in mobile phone).

I ended up Alpine CDE-195BT (1 DIN; no DAB, but CD, BT, USB, hands-free and line-in), Connects2 adapter for stalk remote control and new fascia (like this, but another brand 1 DIN Facia Plate).
Both music and phone via Bluetooth as well as steering wheel stalk without issues.
Around 250 Eur as total (installing by myself).

I think, CDE-196DAB is the same head unit in UK.

Also, if you don't need CD player, I would recommend to consider e.g. mechless players

Also a option, have search on ebay, there was a chap who modified ford radios/cd players - added aux, it won't be great but enough to sound fairly good, or you have to go route of new system if you want quality

Forget the adapters, bluetooth I have tried a few in past, better off spending money and put in nice radio, they are quite resonable nowadays, hope it goes well :0)
