Engine timing possible issue

Featured Replies

Hello again. Just had Timing belt done on my 1.6 petrol mk2 focus. Got it back after work today and it seems to be miss firing slightly and seems low on power..

Is it possible they messed the timing up slightly?.

It definitely wasn't like that before.

Get them to recheck it but yes they could be out on the belt

Right.. that's annoying.

On that engine it does not have woodruff key to locate pulleys. All of the pulleys have to be done up tight whilst making sure everything stays in correct position and does not move. Very easy to get it wrong compared to some other engine types

Okay .. I'm forced to run it like this till i get it sorted, im assuming this is definitely not good. Would be my luck if I've knackered some valves by time i get it sorted. ***** hell.
