Many thanks for your help Unofix. Sorry to labour the point, but are there any any hand held stand alone devices that come close? Reading all the gen about these, it is clear that despite the fact that they all claim to cover models from 2014 up to present, but very few of them do!

Generic hand held scanners are all very poor when it comes to getting Ford specific DTC's

I have a Foxwell scanner which wasn't cheap and it still doesn't get all of the DTC's that using FORScan does.

If you want a scanner that works as well as FORScan then I'm afraid you  are looking at Ford IDS £££££££££££££££££

If changing from one cable to an alternative option do you have start from scratch again or does Forscan simply just pick up from your last profile? 

You can save the vehicle profile. Next time you connect FORScan will automatically know.

If you change to a different cable then it is best to create a new profile because if the old cable was not working properly, such as not picking up MS can then the new cable will not either until you create a new profile. You can save the old profile if you wish as well. 

Forscan also recommend you do this every time it is updated, otherwise you will not get the benefit of any new features.

Thanks for the info guys. Updated to the latest release of Forscan. New profile sorted now its loading all the modules as it should.
