Driver door internal trim element - BM51A211B14AE What is it?

Featured Replies

I just bought a MK3 ford focus for my wife after having our first baby. She noticed when closing the door, there was a rattling. I have removed the trim and found that some plastic clips had snapped from this item and it was loose. I'm just wondering if anyone knows the purpose. It doesn't seem to interact with the window or locking mechanism and was curious to what its purpose is? For the time being I have secured it to the frame temporarily with insulating tape to see if it affects the function of any of the electronics in the door. If it comes loose again I was considering gluing or cable ties, or even removing? Anyone who can offer any insight, i'd appreciate it

Have you tried takeing the other door panel off to see where it is supposed to fit 😉
