Loud clunk few seconds after starting engine.

Featured Replies

Hi all.

Occasionally I'm getting a loud clunk about 20 seconds after starting the engine on my 2015 ford focus 1.5tdci zetec. The clunk comes when idle and the car is not moving. Doesn't seem to be effecting performance and car runs pretty smooth but as you can imagine it's something I'd like to rectify rather than wait and have something worse to deal with. Took it to the garage yesterday but couldn't replicate the noise, typically when i left there and went shopping. Come back to car and started it, there it was again. It doesn't seem to be regular or showing anything that may be triggering it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

There have been threads on here about an ABS self-test causing something like this.

Post a video when it does it, that'll help us

Sorry for the late reply. I've tried so many times to catch it on video but every time I do it doesn't do it. It's only happening occasionally. I think it's when I'm doing longer journeys. I am going to keep trying to catch it on video though.
