Good evening peeps,,

I’ve just changed the reverse switch and it worked but now coz it’s dark I put it in reverse and no light ??? But if I hold the gear stick tight down in reverse it illuminates but as soon as I let go it goes out ??

anyone know what I can do or if it can do anything hahahaha

It sounds to me like the plunger on the new switch is fractionally too short...I would take it back to your supplier and swap it for another one, or even try your original switch back in (assuming you've still got it) and see if that only works when you hold the gear stick down ??

Was there a washer on the switch? My thinking is that maybe the washer from the old switch has stuck to the gearbox and when fitting the new switch you have effectively got two washers on there.

New one had a washer but I made sure it was really clean when I put the new one in,,,

was wondering if it is possible to put a bit more tension in the cable not had a look but wonder if the end has a thread or something…. Maybe ??
