2003 MK1 Focus - petrol light never comes on

Featured Replies

Even when the gauge is very close to 0, the light just doesn't pop up.
Maybe i top it up before it turns on or it doesn't work at all.

Anyone with the same problem?

Does the light come on with ignition, then go off?

Early MK1s were still bulbs later models went to LEDs but you may be able to get the LED replaced

I used to have a 2004 mk1 Focus, which the fuel light never come on, took the cluster out to change the bulb and found it was an led.

I checked the operation of all dash bulbs using the test mode and the light lit up, so was functional.

Never did find out why it would not come on in normal use.

Just use the fuel gauge. Do you really need a light? Some might not agree but it’s about the most trivial problem you could have on the car.
